I went wandering in the woods one day, and overheard a strange story coming from a voice I was never able to identify.

That story has gnawed at me for years. I've started to see myself in it. Or maybe it has started to become me?

I recount the story here, in a ~6,000-word kinetic novel (one ending, no choices). 45-60 minutes to read.

some incredible presentation choices going on here, a parade of original and effective devices. i didn't end up connecting with the story, but i was really excited about all the tools used to tell it. it's super cool

the frame story was a nice touch, classic & makes you think about the "real" parts going in and out. when the lyric poetry started I was awake, really appreciated the stylization there. very cool game

Compelling story that felt like I was peeling layer after layer. Each new scene feels like its own distinct fairy tale but also unquestionably part of the cohesive whole. Nicely done!

Love everything about how this one came together.  A really well done short-form fairy tale'esque story that looks and sounds amazing, and the writing is top-notch.
